Hey guys, my horse is a tense/nervous type, jumpy etc and I would like to find a suitable calmer to take the edge off for him (and me lol). I've tried both magnitude and magic with no success to guess its not a magnesium deficiency. I don't really know if there is a camler designed for this type of horse or they are all geared geared to the hyper/fizzy market.
Any thoughts?

slinks, is the global herbs calmer really smelly?

I ask because I got the windgall supplement for him and it was so stinky he wouldn't eat it?

Science Supplement's ProKalm. It isn't magnesium based and has no smell. Its the only one I've come across that works. Otherwise, you can try something with valerian in it, but obviously not if you are competing.

I have one called Chill from Supplement Solutions website - I had the same issue tense rather than fizzy and they recommended this one. There is something (cannot remember what) in it for tension other than mag.

Works for my mare and it is not very expensive.

They do some samples of some of their supplements to try - give them a call they may have one of the calmer.

Thanks folks - hadn't even heard of most of these! Great to know that there are products designed for tense/nervous types as I'm getting nowhere with the standard magnesium based ones *sigh*
Kimby - does the relax me supplement work for nervous horses?
