Are there any non magnesium based calmers out there to take the edge off a horse who can be a bit hot and stressy? I'm taking a 4 year old to his first dressage to do a walk and trot at a really small low key venue but I would like to ensure we both survive so wondered if there were any non magnesium based ones as he already has a supplement with magnesium in it.

Equine Science do Calmer Cookies. You have to ring to order, but can read all the details on their website first. You used to be able to buy a tester pack of 2 doses, which is useful - I imagine you still can :)

You can purchase single sachets off eBay of the confidence eq. I've bought two to test it out rather than getting a whole box full

There is a spray calmer out, its magnesium based but works slightly differently I believe. I only know a few people who have used it but they all said good things
