Im having trouble deciding on which calmer to use. It is a choice between NAF magic or feel good 30 calmer. He can be very spooky when ridden. FG30 says it contains lecithin which is good for spooky horses, but I dont think this is in both only the FG 30. I know people who have recommended NAF magic on here, was your horse just nuts at competitions etc ?!

Did it help with general riding on a daily basis? He is great in the stable but sharp and spooky when ridden which is knocking my confidence.

Jim is my 9yo ID who's a very sweet horse but has a tendancy to overreact big time & ends up scaring himself. Some days it seemed like anything would set him off - the chickens on the yard, a bucket in the wrong place, his own shadow - & once started it became a downward spiral with him becoming fixated on one thing & so blanking out everything else which meant by the time he noticed something else it also startled him. All the schooling & training in the world didn't seem to overcome this but when he wasn't edgy he was a poppet that little kids could handle. The easily startled behaviour could also be seen in the field.

I've now had him on FG30 science formula calmer for a few years & the difference is remarkable - he doesn't get so edgy & "blank out" anywhere near as often. I generally keep him on half the recommended dose as I find that's sufficient for him but when there are flushes of grass or if he starts looking edgy I up the amount until I get a calmer look.

I tried NAF Magic because it was easier to get hold of when I moved but it didn't work as well for us, even on the full dose he was showing worried edgy behaviour. He also wasn't keen on eating it.

Personally I'd really recommend the FG30 if you can get hold of it. While it won't turn a lunatic into a safe novice ride I can honestly say it keeps Jim calm enough to at least remember I'm there & listen to me & usually that's all I need

I did use NAF magic when my horse was living in this winter as he went through a spell of being a git! I did think it may have made a small difference. It certainly didn't stop him being sharp and spooky but I did feel he was spooking a bit less. I wasn't getting enough of a result to justify the expense so I stopped it. Its probably worth a try. I've no experience for feel good 30.

another vote for the feel good make sure it is the scientific and not the herbal tho as the herbal is not so good. the scientific one is powder form the other looks like large herbs

Thanks for reading and for your replies, I shall def try a calmer, depends which one I find first, unless I order online!

Thank you once again
