My mare is a real chestnut mare! She bred me a super foal afew years ago and had always been flirty and in season at the glance of a passing horse. (male or female, shes not fussed!)

I have tried regumate, and it made her worse. Made her very hard to handle, etc. At this point she had not been in proper ridden work. So im now wondering if its worth giving it another try? Although if shes worse how long will it take for her to go back to 'normal'?

I have had her on horse first calmer for nearly a month, and this doesnt seem to have worked either?

Any suggestions welcomed. Thanks

I use agnus castus on my red head mare. she was a tad vicious when i got her but now like a kitten.
i also use nupafeed calmer. Amazing stuff and took another mares dressage from the 50's to the low 30's. she wasn't mareish just very hot. i still use nupafeed now and it always works a treat.

i use magnitude on my sharp youngster has worked a treat, she can be a little marish but nothing major, its more the sharpness that i put her on it for, may be worth a try as its only £18 for 6 months worth and started working in a week or two?

Thanks for the replies. Will look into nupafeed as someone else has recommended it to me.
Never heard of agnus castus, will google it.
Escada will look at that suggestion as well, and its nice and cheap so if that works.. bingo!

I use agnus castrus on myself! I noticed myself getting really grumpy and irrational during "my seasons" - works a treat on me! I am now even tempered all the time (ha ha - my husband may disagree with this). Sorry no help on the horse front though!

Try Slut Mix from Herbal Wise (based in Ireland). They have a website.

We had tried all sorts on our grey mare to no avail until someone recommended this stuff. It didn't turn her into an angel but it helped big time. We couldn't tell when she was even in season when she was on Slut Mix.
Horse First Relax Me works great on my gelding but apparently calmers do work better on geldings (no hormones to contend with).

Good luck! If it doesn't work sell her and buy a gelding!!!!!

OMG what a terrible name! Did make me giggle though, simple things and all that :p

Escada- made me laugh as well!!!

I wonder if I could combine slut mix and Angus castries?

If you get the mobile number from the Herbal Wise website and give the man a ring (he's called Tommy) he'll advise you. He's really friendly and helpful.

I agree it is a terrible name but you'll remember it!!!
