Hi,
My horse has a tendon injury which resulted in me walking in hand for months, then walking ridden and now we have been trotting small amounts for a few weeks.
Throughout all of this my horse has been a gem being excellent behaved and no sedatives etc used. However he has now become super spooky at just about everything, wants to go everywhere as fast as possible, sometime sidewards etc ( I guess you get the picture). Absolutely anything sets him off and this is completely out of character.
I have considered whether it is pain related but he has been regularly checked by the vets and everything about him is forward and he looks as if he is enjoying it (which is more than can be said for me !!)
About 5 days ago I decided to try nupafeed calmer as he has also got a bit more sensitive to the touch. He was put on the loading dose and was a bit better (or about the same) for two days then on the third day was the worst ever, doing handstands in the menage and enjoying it!!
I rang nupafeed and they said to take him off it for a few days then reduce the dose significantly to very little once a day.
I just wondered if anyone had any similar experiences. Is this just high spirits ?? but wouldnt it have shown before now??
Any thoughts or advice greatly appreciated.
