Is there such a thing as calming cookies for dogs the same as for horses to take the edge off them?

Dobby just struggles to keep a lid on himself in certain situations and I'd love something to help him maintain focus without removing too much umpf if that makes sense? I have done some googling but everything I can find seems to be more aimed at helping with things like fireworks as opposed to what I'm looking for.

I tried Valerian, cannabis oil and Calm & Focused. Not at the same time, obviously.
As much use as a chocolate fireguard TBH but mine is probably an extreme case. He's nearly 11 and still cray cray.

I'm fairly sure calming cookies do a dog version. It's on their Facebook

Lily's kitchen do bedtime biscuits which they say helps a dog relax at night. I'm skeptical whether its true or not but it does seem to have some calming ingredients and its a permanent thing now anyway as my dog expects them every single night

I've tried the Lily's Kitchen bedtime biscuits and Pooch & Mutt "calm and relaxed" biscuits. I'm not sure that either do much if I'm honest, although the dog likes them!

We use a calmer from aok9, it's a daily thing rather than as and when and it's the best dog calmer I've tried. Definitely doesn't remove any oomph but stops our rescue getting hysterical about things. Like all calming stuff though what works for one won't touch another, all you can do is try a few and see if one suits.

I've tried a magnesium supplement, Yucalm, Zyklene and the CalmK9 from AOk9. If you ever do find something like a calming cookie that works please let me know!!!

What are you feeding? They may be having a negative effect to an ingredient in their food?

We purposely keep our collies unfit at this time of the year, they are a nightmare otherwise! if they are losing it in certain situations you need to do more of that situation to make it less fun. Same thing with horses I guess.

I'm skeptical that calming treats could work on a dog. Its like those Lik-its they have containing electrolytes for horses. The occasional lick isn't going to alter an electrolyte imbalance anymore than a cookie or two given to a dog will change a dogs behaviour. Sorry but I just don't see it myself.

Maybe if they ate a whole packet in one go! :)

He's on CSJ atm with some Naturo wet for additional calories as he won't eat more than a certain number of biscuits in a day and runs light ?‍♀️ I've tried a couple of different foods over the years and besides one which sent him loopy he's been the same on all of them....hes just an over excitable turd ?

I'm hoping once the season is in full swing the novelty will wear off. To be fair to him he never does things like jump out of the ring for the sake of it, he's normally going so fast he can't stop because he's so excited to be playing his favourite game ?‍♀️?
