Camber Sands Beach ride today

Took Sussex to Camber Sands today!!

It was WICKED!!!

didnt know i was going till 10.15 this morning when i got a call saying get sus in and be at Warren barn for 11!! Done the quickest Drag in from field tack up and get to warren barn ever

Got there and went for a walk up the beach and in a few of the pools and he didnt bat an eyelid (this is a horse that wont go near a puddle!!)

Then had a little canter that turned out to be a flat out gallop lol!

few more paddles in the sea and i dont think he could work out the waves and then another gallop.

Then we met up with the rest of the group and had a blast down the beach to meet them (there were 9 of us) and a canter in the surf which turned out to be very wet.

Had a bit of a rest and decided to go further out where it was deeper and went in up to his belly then was trying to walk back to the shore and he was jumping the waves and then took off.

Had a couple more gallops and then walked back to the lorry.
Think it was nice for sus to have a good gallop today and blow out a few cobwebs and have some fun.

I know its a bit self indulgent but i had such a good time i wanted to share it with someone

Aw bless! The sea does tend to be rather wet!!!

Glad you had a lovely time. You had the best day for it.

Haven't been to Camber for years as the Council were starting to get funny about us horseboxes parking in the car park!

There was some moody idiot moaning about us stopping the horseboxes outside his hut thingy (we hadnt parked we were just waiting for some lorries to go as there was nowhere to park.

It was the first time sus had been to a beach party and my first time on the beach in this country ( been in Ireland and Venezuala)

Sounds like they're still not keen then!

Also, last time I went there were quite a few land-surfers/kite surfers (whatever you call them!) rocketing along the beach on skateboard things with a surf sail.

Pony was terrified of them and thought we were going to bolt all the way to Dungeness Power station!!

Ha ha there were still people flying their kites but we just went as far out as we could.

Sussex's eyes were on stalks but i think that was more excitment over everything else other than the kites.

Nearly came off in the sea when he saw some seaweed lol
