So i decided to take a chance and go to camp which is this weekend coming and feeling quite excited about it.

Trying to make a list of things i need to take and wondering if anyone can think of anything i may need.

So far i have:

Saddle
bridle
Girth
numnah
martingale
Horses boots
travel stuff
sweat rug
buckets for feed/water
mucking out tools (not sure on wheelbarrow?)
Brushes for grooming
wound cream
suncream
headcollar and lead rope
lunging stuff?
Hay
my own boots
hat
whip
gloves
money for food from chip van

Can't think if anything else. They are providing shavings and my yard owner is taking us there in the lorry along with another person. I can't see us needing turnout or stable rugs as he isn't wearing any at the moment but would you take any just incase?

Anyone else got any ideas? We will be doing flatwork jumping and cross country. Thanks :)

Hm.. I'd take spare lead rope too. And I sometimes pack a lightweight in case the weather turns, more to save myself from my mud monster being head to toe filthy! One other thing I do is a mini minor injury first aid kit for myself & horse (plasters, painkillers etc for me) :)

Take the wheelbarrow! Even if you don't use it for mucking out, it will be useful for carting stuff about, especially if the lorry park is a bit of a trek from the stables.

Feed to put in the feed buckets.

Body protector if XC is involved.

Clothes for you for every possible type of weather.

Chocolate!

Take a lightweight waterproof rug and a cooler rug... if they are temporary stables they can leak and a cooler rug is always helpful as a thin layer eg if the wind blows into the stable

At least 3 numnahs if it's hot horse will be sweating a lot. Sweat scraper for wash down with sponges. Don't need lunging stuff unless your horse needs it before being ridden.

Tack cleaning stuff as again if hot, nice to clean tack before next day.

Take more clothes for you as nice to change into dry t-shirt after lunch if it's hot/peeing down with rain.

Cheers everyone. I actually forgot about my body protector. Need to wear that this week again to get used to it.

The stables are proper ones so no leakages. I don't think they get a field at night though they just have to stay in the stable unless in a lesson I believe.

Will remember sponges and sweat scraper. I imagine he is going to sweat a lot. He is at the moment after just one session not sure if he needs to be clipped soon. He won't get that though til after camp sadly.
