However saying this i like it as she is french mastiff i find its not pulling/holding her baggy skin together but i want to get a half check collar thats at least got a bit of pink on (fed up mummy being told 'he looks cute!)

Do you know where i can get a collar thats nice but not crazy expensive! :)

Also any advice on camping shops will be helpful

Sorry for essay :P

Hi,

I do a lot of Camping with my dogs and normally camp and hike so if you aren't doing a lot of walking my advise might be pointless.

Collapsible water bowl, for when you are walking her, I have a silicon one that pops out, my sister prefers the material ones. Also a water for the walks. Don't know how far or where you will be going but I generally take about 3L for the dogs and plan a 'top up' stop if possible when organising my route. I have a planned water stop every 30 mins when it's hot and every hour stop in shade for at least 10 mins (sometimes they need to crash for longer) for allow them to cool down. Don't forget your own fluids too.

To add to the whole 'keeping them cool' thing, I take a microfibre towel with me. It folds down small, is really light but if I need to I can soak it help them if they get hot.

If you are doing any longer walks, maybe take her a light lunch.

I also have a melalin dressing, micropore tape, cotton wool, those squeezable things of sterile water, tick pickers, scissors and claw clippers. I have a bottle of metacam with me too, but that is mainly because I walk in some quite inaccessible areas.

Possibly take a couple of large towels you can cover her bed or sleeping bag with in case of bad weather. A wet dog in the tent is pretty unpleasant.

I find a separate bag for the full poo bags quite useful, that way I am not constantly reaching into my rucksack.

Cannot help you on collars, maybe pets at home?

Forgot to mention. I take a tube of Dirasanyl too, diarrhoea when camping would be horrible and if you are doing a lot with your dog and it gets ill, it will need to replace the electrolytes

Thank you!
Will have to grab a tube of that! I dont want runny poos lol :)
I have a collapse able bowl so will be sure to pack that. Walks wont be overly long but your advice really helped thank you :)
Have added most of those things to my list haha

We considered it and realised our greyhound would freeze!!! If thats likely, maybe coats, or jumpers for doggie. Plenty of towels for drying off.

You could do worse than a fleece "Tankie" type thing for when they get wet. I've got these for mine and keep them in the car. You just chuck them on a wet/mucky dog and they'll dry them off nicely, and keep them warm too.

Equafleece do some nice ones: a good robust produce and well-made in the UK and NOT China (unfortunately a lot of doggie kit is made there :( ). I'm boycotting Chinese stuff because of Yulin, which is why I mention this.

Collars? I've got a "Splashy Dog" one for mine: as the title suggests, ideal for dogs going into water as they dry quickly, are light, and don't hold onto water which means the dog's neck area is kept so much dryer - and fresher.

Shes a mastiff so short haired, but i have ordered her like a snuggie blanket/coat/wrap...? to put on her when shes cold, but also planning on taking towels so il make sure i have enough :)
So hoping that will work! If not i have her fleecy coat.. ( she looks like an eskimo! Its her snow coat...)

I spoil my dog lol!
