camrosa ointment bad?

Iv just read a post on another forum of someone saying their horse was poisoned by heavy metals after using camrosa. Tested camrosa and full of heavy metals. Others have said its caused swelling and hair loss and all sorts. I had no idea. Iv not used it but thought it looked like really good stuff. Others have said it has helped sarcoids etc. I dont think ill be using it! Just a warning. Maybe it works for some not others but it is worrying. Anyone used this stuff?
 
im not sure to be honest, I thought the general consensus was pretty much that it was not good for sarcoids as the company had initially portrayed but that it was quite good at general healing and promoting cell regrowth. However, its not something i have used or would use as i use other products to this effect
 
I have used it for years and have seen absolutely amazing results with it.
With everything I patch test first as each horse is different.
One of the yard essentials.
Have even used it on myself :D
 
Same as JJones. I used it on a horse with sweet itch and followed the instructions to the letter. It did not work at all, it took me weeks to get the horse stabilised again.
 
If you expect it to work on sarcoids it won't and the company should not have claimed that it does. It may work for conditions such as mud fever because it creates a barrier to water, but you can just use vaseline for that instead.
 
Used it on a pony with mild sweet itch and it was great. Really helped soothe any sore bits and healed quickly. Used it on another horse for mud fever and I'm sure it made it worse. So i really think it's one of those things that suits some but not others.
 
Used it on a small area of proud flesh as recommended by the vet and it done the trick. Never had any problems with it whatever I've used it for
 
I used it many years ago to treat my horse's mud fever. It didn't work but she didn't have any adverse reactions to it.
 
I used it to help my horses greasy flaky legs....I followed the instructions to the letter, and covered all 4 legs for 4 weeks with the damned stuff.....it cost me a *fortune* and didn't work.....I wouldn't waste my money again.....
 
I used it on my mare who due to change in washing powder for numnahs came up in lumps on her back and all her hair fell out. I used Camrosa and it def helped, removing all inflammation and the hair regrew quickly. Much quicker than using vaseline. Like all lotions and potions some work for some and some don't. Its contents do not worry me.
 
I've used it for well over 10 years on many different things and it's been great for most of the things I've used it for. Proud flesh it is particularly brilliant at dealing with. I've used it on a number of different types of sarcoids and they've all cleared up although some took longer than others. I personally wouldn't use it on broken skin but I know lots of people who have and have been pleased with the results.

I got skin cancer a couple of years ago and the country I live in charges (a LOT) for medication so I deliberated as to whether I should give the Camrosa a try. Apart from it being two small areas on my face (which was a bit of a concern) it really was a no-brainer, $195 for 10 days worth of ointment from the doctor (and I would have had to have 6 weeks worth of the stuff) versus 30 GBPs for a tub of Camrosa that I can use on other things. The skin cancer cleared up within 3 months and my doctor was mega impressed! (So was I!)
 
Spring feather, did you use camrosa on your own skin cancer?
Just want to check I'm reading that right.
I'm not having a go , genuine interest!

yes I did. It was a choice of spending $900 for a doctor ointment or a few pennies on Camrosa. I chose the Camrosa. I also chose the Camrosa because there can be ghastly side effects with the human medical ointment and in all the years of using Camrosa on horses I have never once had a side effect. I did use it in the winter so that if it turned my face all scabby that it wouldn't matter as I'd be hidden under layers of scarves anyway ;)
 
No way would I use this again. Horrific reaction from treatment - cost me thousands. My vet said he would not and could not recommend it. I have also heard about the heavy metal content.

This comment needs to come with a health warning. Ointment does not kill cancer cells. Chemo and rads do.
 
Camrosa is hardly Imiquimod is it.

It is very wrong to suggest using an animal ointment to treat a potentially fatal condition. Cancer is an emotive subject, leave the specialists to treat and advise.

I'm just heading out for dinner with friends and I really can't be arsed arguing with someone who isn't up to date on what treatment is available. You said "ointment does not kill cancer cells", I posted the link of what I was prescribed an ointment which kills cancer cells. I most certainly did not suggest anyone should use Camrosa, or anything for that matter; I told the story of what I did. I used it, given the choice of one ointment with terrible side effects or using a horse drug, I chose the horse drug. No side effects and no skin cancer. Perhaps when/if your free NHS dissolves, you'll consider alternatives too.

Im glad it worked out right for you. :) just goes to show, whats bad for one is good for another

I stand by my comment. Your statement that camrosa cured your skin cancer should not be aired on an open forum, it could easily mislead people who really need to go and get an expert opinion and appropriate, proven care.

The NHS has just spent many thousands saving my life over the past 12 months. Today was spent at a Nuclear Medicine Centre, where a dedicated team looked after me, no horse ointment in sight. I suppose 40 years worth of tax and NI paid for most of the treatment.
 
And there is nothing wrong with stating a truthful fact. If Spring feather feels after using the camrosa it helped get rid of the cancer who are we to dispute? Also, if people read that and take it into their own hands, thats their own choice. We cant all be responsible for others actions. Free speech
