A mate has a yard in south west, and her lower end of the school has been under water all of last week and still same today, the field next to school is 12 inches under water! About one third of the school is like a paddling beach , most of the rubber is floating , it's only the base boards that are stopping it being all washed away. She can see the sand under the water, it appears to be receding a foot or so a day, this school cost her £23 k three years ago, she has talked to her insurance they will send an assessor round when water is gone. Anyone else's school had something like this happen and it was ok after.

A yard where we used to livery lost most of their rubber off the outdoor school - think it was the 2007 floods! That wasn't so much from being underwater for a long period though - more of a deluge as they are halfway down a hill - it ran through their indoor alongside and we had to work in just the unaffected half for months while the rest dried out. The rubber from the outdoor settled on the slope near the school about 20m away, and we eventually barrowed most of it back in after it had dried out! Think the sand was actually OK, but as I say they are on the side of a hill so drainage is pretty good. Quite a bit of rubber disappeared altogether though, and that arena needed topping up later in the year.

Our sand and rubber used to spend most of the winter under water and it recovers well with relatively little ease - both sand and rubber are water proof so providing it isn't draining the surface away I don't see the problem?

The issue will be if a lot of shilt has found its way into the school that will clogg the drains .
They will lose some surface that's easily and relatively cheaply replaced .
