Can anyone give me an estimation on vets bill??

My mare has been kicked. It was healing ok but to cut a long story short it's all gone a bit wrong and she's ended up having to stay at the vets on intensive antibiotics.

I think she is going to be ok it seems to be healing well. But I'm bit concerned about the bill as she's not insured! By the end of it (well when she comes out of hospital, all being well) she will have had:
Xrays
ultrasound scan
cleaning / flushing
5 days antibiotics injected into infected area followed my oral antibiotics
10 days stay at equine hospital inc. bandaging etc. and ongoing vet care

Not going to be cheap is it?

Phone them and ask tomorrow morning as to what the bill currently stands at, and how much more it's likely to be from tomorrow.
I would have been asking (and getting) regular financial updates - as well as how the horse was doing.

It's no good guessing as all practices charge differently. Hope she recovers soon.

I had similar for my mare nearly 10 years ago, but iv antibiotics, no flushing, added spa treatments (twice daily for 5 days) and a pressure boot, my bill was just shy of 5k

But 10 years is a long time and all vets charge different prices
