or an estimate thereabouts?

I'm trying to get quotes from insurance companies and they're all requesting the current market value of my horse but I honestly have no idea!

I have looked at adverts of similar horses but there's such a range of prices that I thought I'd ask you guys for help?!

he's not for sale so this isn't an advert!

info:
15.1hh
12 YO
Gelding
Import (does this make a difference? lol)
I would say he's an all-rounder?
Hacks anywhere with or without company
totally bombproof
he's affiliated with CYEF (which is Cyprus Equestrian Federation)
competing 90/100cm
preliminary and novice dressage
fantastic XC jumper but only competed up to 80cm so far
no vices
great with beginners as well

has done no competing in the UK yet so no competing record.
Oh, and I bought him for £3000 including his brand new WOW saddle (if that helps?)

To me, he's priceless but hey ho
thanks to anyone who can give me a rough figure :D
fruit gums for all!

It certainly makes life easy for you. If he was 3k with his saddle, you could take some off for the saddle (eg say that you paid 2k for him and 1k for the saddle).

Just think what you would want to get back for him if he died. The more he is worth - the higher the premium - if you just want insurance for vet fees make it as low as you can - which about 2 k seems right...

Just bear in mind that if he were to die and he was insured for more than you paid for him the loss adjusters are sure to question the market value you placed on him and there is no guarantee that they will pay out that amount. I would think you could deduct at least £500 for a second hand saddle from the price you paid.
