Can Anyone Help? Appauled by the RSPCA

forgot to mention, even though a warning notice with a timescale is issued for sect 9 offences, the time scale can be with immediate effect, and i had visited dogs in the dark 24 hrs a day i would demand that this was put right whilst i was there, i would not have walked away and left them in darkness!!

Is it true that the small animals which go into the RSPCA care ( cats dogs etc) have a time span on their head to home them before they are put down?

it depends on lost of things, mostly whether the home is a branch run or HQ run, most branches go out of their way to re home, but there are an awful lot pts for no good reason at all.I know sadly as i put so so many things down that could have been rehomed, puppies kittens rabbits cats dogs etc etc simply becuase the homes were full and thee was no where for them to go.
It was a horrid job, putting down a litter of puppies in the back of my van and sticking them all in a body bag.Happened at least twice a month.
The rspca are spending their money in so many ways that are wrong, instead of providing care for these such animals.
Basically the rules were if there was no where for them to go they had to be pts :(

What an upsetting thread :-(

OP I would thoroughly recommend world horse welfare- I know of a youngster which was bought as a foal, then locked in a stable for the next 2 years because The owner was too frightened to turn it out.

Tried RSPCA etc, they didn't want to know. Called WHW within a couple weeks they'd visited, and said pony was promptly turned out!!!

It's the only organisation I know of with any real teeth when it comes to horses.

Don't think anybody has mentioned this, but isn't it worth seeing if DEFRA will get involved if there is fallen livestock (are horses classed as livestock?)
