OK, so I know what I want but I cannot find it.

The horse HAS to be 16.2hh+, this is non-negotiable.

Well established in the school - think elementary level +.

MUST have competed not once or twice, but for at least a year, consistently in SJ at least, and have a love for the job and a proven track record.

MUST be good to handle with a sweet nature and not a loon who will turn itself inside out if left in for a couple of days.

MUST hack, doesn't matter if it is sharp.

Would prefer it to have hunted.

Would prefer a grey....(shallow, me, never)

Am not too bothered about age, but would prefer 12 and under.

Literally I am looking for the perfect horse - maybe an eventer who said "NO" at advanced or a dressage schoolmaster who also jumps. Maybe you know someone who wants to retire their horse from top level competition but is too young to chuck in the field.

The horse must be capable of jumping all the Blue Chip and Am classes (so would like a 1.20m horse but can bring on) also doesn't matter if it is Grade A in money.

Does ANYONE know of anything? Please don't just chuck "oh this is nice" adverts at me, I have probably seen them already

But if you know of a horse (through comps/RC/PC etc) that is advertised then please bring it to my attention - a little personal knowledge goes a long way.

Money wise...I have a good budget

Thanks!

Paintbox - thank you, never seen that site before in my life!!!

Shils - who are the dealers? I have had my fill of devil horses

CastleMouse - might well be an option if there are a few I can look at!

zigzag - it would have to be exceptional, but the way I have wasted money during the last 4 years I wouldn't say an outright no.

PF - yes please, you know my type!

It depends on your budget really? My trainer (who's an eventer) might have a few suitable horses that he's selling on because they won't go any further than the level they're at at the moment.

17hh IDxTB top class Working hunter/MW hunter, does BSJA/Medium dressage no longer able to do workers/hunters cos he threw a splint (never lame with it just cosmetic) hunts (been used for the Whip) , perfect to hack on own and in company (does ride and lead as well with a tot on a pony) only thing is he is bay

Do you know what level of BSJA he has competed at and his record?

I can highly reccomend her, a friend bought from there ( just a happy hacker ) and when she got it home it was to much for her ( as in it wanted to more than she did not it was naughty) they sell all there horses with a 2 month warranty and they took her horse back no problem and she swapped it for a different one that was more suitable with no extra charges or problems. Only thing with most there horses is that they need a bit of tlc (most are imported and need a bit of weight and a clean up)

Thanks CM - bet he wants a lot of money for him though! Saying that, what an odd SJ record

I don't know what to make of the EI - high percentages and doesn't break it down so as to analyse...

well, in your position the first place i would go to is Vere Phillipps'. i've bought 2 from him, both exactly as he said, he was straight as a die with me. he has lovely lovely horses, he gives them supreme confidence jumping. he doesn't usually hang on to them for that long, but the odd one he does... my mare (who went to Advanced) had been with him for over a year, showjumping. he wouldn't have ridden them to Elementary level on the flat, but they'd be balanced and very ready to learn.

If you click on an event name, you can scroll down and see a detailed record from that event

I remember a lady who lives not that far from me selling her 17hh, 8 year old gelding who had completed Necarne CCI* for about €20,000, but he wasn't going to go any further than 1* level...

Not sure ... they haven't BSJA him much as they concentrated on open workers but he jumps 4'6" (a course) I can find out if you like

I know someone looking for just at £2000! madness!

Chailey stud sometimes have some really nice horses for sale, it can be a bit hit or miss them coming onto website etc. I know friends who have worked their and always said they had some seriously talented horses.
