http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2041863 It's this place. It's also called Lady Anne's Drive or Hanger Hill Drive and runs from Welbeck through to Birklands in Sherwood forest. You need a permit to ride in Sherwood and it's used by lots of walkers and dog owners so not suitable for hooning about on. If you want to gallop safely try Danethorpe gallops.

Yah I know where it is now it's just down road from me your allowed on the path tho called hanger Hill Drive as it's a bridle way, it has a sign post saying bridleway. I'm guessing you been as you get into sherwood forest you need a permit to ride there??? I don't want to go galloping up there just wanted to have a ride there iv heard so much about it but never been able to find it.

You can ride on any bridlepath and there are rights of way through Sherwood. Birklands is the side that you are thinking of I think and it's fairly quiet until you get to the visitor centre/ Major Oak end. You do need a permit for Sherwood, (though it covers lots more than just Sherwood) I've never been stopped and asked but it's the Sherwood Pines side where Centre Parcs is where you're more likely to be challenged.
