hello, please can anyone give me some opinions ect..?
ive got an ex polo horse, and he's fractured his fetlock, - one peice of chipped bone has healed and is back to its place (if tht makes sence) and the other flowting around in soft tissue!
- hes recovering quicky, and walks + stands on it perfectly, just months of walking out now, (from vet) i only no this is whats happend because of exrays. anyone had anything like this happen to their horses before? info? did they make full recovery? if so, what did ur horse do after (exercise).. please some info would be good

to give me an insite of what do plan for the future. thanks =]

Umm, not sure whether to answer this as my experience was a bad one! Though not exactly the same, I knew a horse who fractured his splint bone and part of the fractured bone was then floating round in his leg for ages. The vets tried to remove it but unsuccessfully (I think there was more loose than they thought), horse kept being lame and in the end the owner decided to put him down

But hopefully yours is not as bad as this! Does the vet think it would be worth removing the bone chip? (Although this can be risky), or think it's best lft alone? I hope it doesn't cause him anymore problems, will keep fingers crossed for you.

A horse on our yard had a bone chip in his fetlock that was operated on & had months of box rest then walked out & built up slowly. They're back jumping the courses they were doing before all this now & he's never looked better - so nice to see when someone puts in dedication to getting a horse back sound & he's back fantastically.

Thanks for the replies! well, the vets sed to make sure that it doesnt swell up, but im aloud to ride him out at walk, wich is good. - but hes havning an xray in another 6months, - yes last time vet was out he sed from 1-10 he's only 1/2 lamish, wich isnt alot, and he doesnt seem to be lame when trotted on grass, and i hate to trot him to check weather he is anyway!i leave that for the vet! - i get to paranoyed! but i hope for him to recover full, and possibly do some sjing=]
