UPDATED It is time for us to admit, now the estate is finished, that our cat Bob hates living here and always has. He is on his nerves the whole time, thinner then he should be, constantly on edge, with a flea allergy which flares under stress. He is now peeing in the house and refusing...

It's a bit of a trek from you but Rose Cottage Cat rescue in Shropshire are great, they rehome all sorts of cats, that's where we got ours from

Google local cat rescues if you’re struggling to rehome privately. I generally have to find rescue spaces for 2-4 cats a month that we get stuck with at work for various reasons and the smaller, local rescues are generally better at squeezing cats in than the bigger national ones. Some rescues have a network of fosterers rather than having them in kennels which is a bit nicer for the cat as well.

Will your branch not offer a direct homing service? That way he doesn't go into foster care and moves direct, with them home checking on your behalf.
