I know it isn't horsey but want to get as many people to see this as possible

I don't know her or her family although they are local to my son, but want to share this fb page with you all in the hope that perhaps it may encourage some of you to help save her life. They are desparately looking for blood donors.Unfortunately her blood type is not so common and without the blood she will die. They are trying very hard to get as much publicity out there as possible in order to give her the best chance.Unfortunately I have the wrong blood type to donate but am trying to do my bit by sharing this page with as many people as possible.

very sad, i can no longer donate, i used to, but having blood transfusions scuppers that. hope she gets help soon.

Im rhesus b positive too. :(

It's hard not being able to do anything to help this little girl or the hundreds of others in need. What makes this case even more difficult is that the blood has to be B+ but with a cmv negative.Aparantly about 70% of those with a B+ type will be cmv positive. Also because someone has been cmv negative in the past doesn't mean they still will be as that can change through ilness such as the common cold.

I've donated all my life - since I was old enough - my brothers life was saved by someone elses blood when he was 3 days old - and as soon as I was able to I donated.

At one time here in NZ I was called in regulaly to donate on transfusion days for cancer patients. Now because of madcow disease I'm no longer allowed to donate, New Zealands policy for anyone who spent 6 months or more in the UK in the early 80's.

To all our supporters,

We have been overwhelmed by your support. Thank you.

The response has been such that we please now ask that no more people come forward and contact us via text or email.

We are very hopeful that with the numbers of people who have come forward so far, Melanie will have the numbers of Granulocyte donors she needs.

The Hospital is not in a position to contact everyone who has come forward, so if you are not contacted, thank you for all your kind offers of help.

The National Blood Service always needs blood donors - to donate visit http://www.blood.co.uk/giving-blood

To the OP and Spike.

Some of us can not see Facebook as we are not members. But Spike the above post is Melaine's Dad?? Surely he knows best?

Also the page you have on says it is unavailable.
