I don't know this person at all but I saw her post on facebook saying that she has had all her rugs stolen including the ones off the horses back!! So she is desperate for rugs in any condition. I don't know how to link to it properly but here is the link to the group and her post is a couple down.

Can't believe thieves will stoop this low :( Sadly none of my rugs are the right size but thought someone else might be able to help as it must be a really horrible situation to be in.

When we lived down south we too had rugs taken off the horses backs - they were fully clipped and left naked standing out in thick snow....

Will have a look through my spares.

It really takes thieving to another level :( Poor horses!

I cant read facebook sorry? Where are they?

This is what has been put on facebook for anybody that can't see it.

My yard was broken into last night, all the rugs were taken off the horses back, along with all spares (and other stuff) please please please of anyone has any rug they don't need (don't care what state!) the horses are freezing and I don't have the money to buy them all again! Desperate plea for 6fts, 6ft 9, 5ft 3, 4 ft3, 4ft 6 and 3ft 9!! Please if anyone can help. Dartford Kent

Thank you. I will need to look but not sure if I threw them out. I think may be too small if I still have but not local to Dartford.

They have said on a later post on fb that they would pay for any post and packaging etc. I have their email address if you want to contact them as you dont have facebook?

I'm afraid I'm never sure if these things are genuine

Surely if they have all those horses they must have some sort of financial reserve...

If you have the odd spare rug, that you're not using, why not go with your heart and trust that its genuine.Things posted on Facebook would usually be known about by local people, so you'd hope that they were true.

As for having a reserve, when we had our tack and rugs stolen for our four horses we had to find about £1500 to replace everything (I didn't insure tack as the tackroom wasn't to the insurance co's spec), which is a blimmin big reserve to have around.. I was very grateful for the people that did give me their odds and ends that worked for us.. Same thing happened when a local stables burned down, people rallied round and gave all their spare stuff. What is often junk kicking around is lifesaving to others..
