My horse loves to hunt. So much so he jumps out of his field to go hunting.

He's done 5 seasons and was an efficient hunter. I was joking with my friends saying I should hire him out - but then thought maybe i could hire him out?

Obviously it'd only be to people I know and trust - but is there any need out there for anyone to hire a good hunter?

Thanks FL. Its only a thought as he seems to be so happy out doing things, but he's a kook so I would need to be careful who I let handle him.

How fast and how much jumping does the Vale do Ishy? He's of medium fitness. Very well mannered easy ride would carry a man all day with ease but not if it was 100% fast and furious.

Not much jumping tbh .
Most days there is an alternate route round fences anyway and if you have to jump they are about 1'6

Speed wise , depends which meet you are at and what part of the Vale it is but TB horsey managed last year and he wasn't full fitness

:)

wouldn't you be worried about letting strangers take your horse out hunting, possibly kicking him in the ribs all day or yanking at his mouth?? I wouldnt wish to do this with mine i would let friends i knew ride one out with me but would never allow strangers to take mine anywhere!! and what about in this day and age when you cant really trust many people you loan out a horse and next thing you know its sold!! what if you hired him out and he never came back????

Obviously it'd only be to people I know and trust

Does that part give you a clue?

???????????????? why the sarcasm?? i was only giving my opinion on an open forum, and as you seemed to be saying to another that if anyone in her area was interested then she should get back to you so how is that people you know and trust?? i was not saying i wouldnt as in putting you down i was just saying that i wouldnt have random people hunting mine, some people would not hunt my horses as I would want them ridden, hence i would only allow very good friends and that obviously there are trust issues out there too, and i would imagine that the insurance side of it would be rather heafty!!!but obviously this is only my opinion!!

Sorry you must be a relative newbie, it wasnt sarcasm, it was just a deadpan statement as it appears you didn't read the OP.

ISH_lover is a friend, so I consider her opinion highly and know she wouldn't even suggest someone who was untrustworthy.

Obviously only to people I know and trust

Hence rendering your reply a bit

look im not going to get into a silly row after only giving my opinion (pathetic if you cant give your opinion on an open forum) im not sorry i didnt agree with you, and i did read the op thankyou very much, but considering i didnt know you were good friends with the other person i was not to know she was not offering you people she knew but you didnt which would then have made strangers riding your horse!!

There's nothing to agree(or not) with. You just didn't read the OP properly and you assumed ISH wasn't a friend.

You know what they say about assuming don't you? (God is there an echo in here?)

Ps haven't you ever heard of hirelings? Thats what they DO, get hired out to people to take hunting and shock horror I bet they aren't only hired to friends either!! But of course, their owners must not care about them!!!

look you seem to be getting yourself into a tizz about sod all i NEVER said you didnt care and i also said i did not say it as a put down to you that it was just my opinion and no i didnt realise you were good friends but hey there was actually no indication that you were just like you wouldnt know who i am freinds with either so no i wasnt making an assumption, there was nothing to make that from, and there is nothing wrong with hirelings like i seem to have to keep on repeating it just is not something i would personally do not that you or anyone else is wrong in doing so, im just confused at why you are getting so het up over someone not wishing to do something that you wish to do, being an open forum people ARE allowed to post their opinions!! life is way to short to be spending my evening getting into a row with someone who only see's someone elses misunderstanding and not their own!!

i told you i didnt make an assumption as there was nothing to indicate either way just like you are trully making an assumption that im to dam thick to know what the word assumption means!!

just get over it like i said life is too short to get into pathetic rows with people over unworthy situations, i meant no harm like i have to keep saying i was just saying i couldnt do this with my horses not that you were a bad person or uncaring owner for wishing to do so and yet it is all getting blown out of proportion, and you seem to be taking it as a nasty comment to you and are very obviously making a row over nothing now turning it into who or who not is your friend unless you state that someone is a good friend how the hell are we supposed to know that they are??

i agree with de_val... that i would in no curcumstances (sp) "hire" out my horse, and yes it may have said it in the OP but for no reason should you (kitsune) have started an argument about it, when it was only an opinion!!
as people always say on here if you dont like peoples opinions then just ignor them and dont retaliate over something so pathetic!!!!
enough said ...

Heh, you truly are a newbie in every sense of the word because if you knew me at all, you'd realise that this doesn't class as a 'row' to me, this is akin to a gnat annoying me

Now run along and find someone elses' tea to die in!!

Before you do, the definition of assume...

assume
Verb
[-suming, -sumed]
1. to take to be true without proof

Which is exactly what you did, you didn't ASK, you didn't QUESTION - you assumed dear!!!

..................Heh, you truly are a newbie in every sense of the word because if you knew me at all, you'd realise that this doesn't class as a 'row' to me, this is akin to a gnat annoying me

once again so up your own backside that you think you are so big, so tuff and so undestructable, well actually the last few comments you have made actually make you look like a silly pathetic little girl, you should not be looking to gain points in how great you are at rowing...........now sod off gnat, go away grow up and come back a less vile human being!!

To get back on topic - it is illegal to "let out on hire for riding or use for providing instruction" unless you have a Riding Establishments licence and comply with its provisions.

Anyone who DOES hire out a horse for hunting - or any other ridden purpose - without a licence is committing an offence and effectively making oneself FULLY laible for any accident or injury sustained by the hirer - or 3rd parties - as a result.

how does that work for loan horses? Is it because the loan agreement has a clause in it? Because when you loan a horse providing it says it can be hunted then is it not the same thing? (not trying to be clever, genuinely asking!)
