why neither of my lot take any notice of a low flying really loud red arrows display right overhead...... but have a damn good look at a stray crisp packet meandering across the yard!!??
Mare is the same. Got buzzed by red arrows once and she didn't flinch. Then tried to gallop down the road when confronted with a hubcap tied onto a gate!! I think she thought it was an eye, poor girl!
Yes, historically, horses were not prey animals for birds (well, not since they were the size of cats and the birds were teradactyls). However, anything moving in a bush could potentially pounce and gobble them up. Even in gentle, rural England.
And if anyone has that answer, then could they tell me why Brandy will let a combine harvester pip her stirrup as it roars by, but when we pass a wheelie bin we have heart failure...?
