Hello! This is my first post and I have found this forum so helpful! I am 26 years old and used to ride all the time but stopped when I had my children and now haven't ridden for a good few years! Am thinking about having riding lessons to get my confidence back and wondered if anyone could reccomend anywhere in particular? I live in Holbury near Hythe so anywhere in the new forest or southampton would be great. Thank you!

Welcome!

Burley Villa School of Riding, in the heart of the forest, are AMAZING! They also do western riding, lovely people, lovely horses, just lovely!

A few years ago I went to a place called 'Applemore' in the NF, they wanted to see me ride an old eventer to assess my riding, so used their well-surfaced, big school then was given a lovely homebred 4yo of theirs to hoon across the countryside on with a group of other riders, one of the best trekking centres ive ever visited and seemed to be an impressive set up to operate as a riding school as well! No idea if it's still there or what, but worth a google?

I'm afraid I don't know many more that aren't Botley/Winchester-way and imagine that's a bit far to travel?!

Thank you for your replies, will try them both. Is really difficult as don't really want a formal lesson just want to sit on a horse again and check I can remember what to do!
