I have an ancient one that feels a bit like I am wearing a Billboard

so only ever wear it when I am forced to.

I have a difficult horse at the mo and keep finding myself hitting the deck

Think perhaps I should be wearing one! But I really want a comfortable one so that I can actually move.

Any recommendations? I am 5'6 size 10 so shouldn't need anything unusual! (although the one I have at the moment is a childs! lol.)

I have a Rodney Powell one which is really light and comfy. Comes in lots of different sizes, definitely best to get a sales person to help you decide which size you need as it may be completely different from what you'd guess yourself!

I don't have one, but I borrowed my friend's racesafe one once and it was amazingly comfortable, unfortunately their is nothing wrong with my current one but if I was replacing I would definately be getting one of those.

Ive got a Jack Ellis Pro one at the moment which is pretty comfortable. I know it sounds daft but have a look on Amazon, they had the Jack Ellis ones on there for £29.99 a week or so ago. Bargain!!!! But I never realised they did horse stuff before.

im a size 10 - 12 and about 5 foot 5, and i fitted into the childs one, which had the added bonus of being about £20 cheaper!!

I love mine - it's a Harry Hall Valentine and was only about £40. TBH I wouldn't worry too much about brands etc, just try some on and see what fits and feels comfy, because everyone is different.

I've got a Loveson one and I love it. I did have an older one that was horrible - it used to leave bruises on my arms but the Loveson one is excellent.

I've just looked through my history and the link is there but it won't work. If you google 'jack ellis body protectors £29.99' the link will come up for the page on amazon so you could use it when It's working?

Hope this helps Fruity!

Never quite managed to work out how ladies more well-endowed in the chest-area feel in body-protectors though... can't imagine squeezing larger assets into one would be particularly comfortable no matter what brand protector you get...

Unfortunately I just have to put up with them getting flattened!

I've had an Aerowear one for years; very comfy and has velcro at both sides and the shoulders so very adjustable. It's going spare at the moment if you're interested as I've just been given a new Racesafe one for my birthday (I fancied a change of colour!) It should fit you, you're about the same size as me; PM me if you're interested (you can see it in my sig)...

Airowear Zippa and Zippa Plus are available in "lady shapes"!!
I love mine even though actually, I could probably get away with a man's shape one...

I'd never voluuntarily wear any other as I forget I'm wearing one but feel naked without it.

I have always had Rodney powell ones but bought a new one this year as I was fed up with feeling like I was wearing armour plating!
I tried and bought a Racesafe one and it is unbelieveable how much more comfortable it is (they do diff lengths now!). I think anyone thats always had a RP one that tries the Racesafe on will wonder why they haven't switched before!!

Mine had to be specially ordered because standard ones didn't fit my chest but tbh I find it better. It holds your chest really firm and stops them moving about. Mine are far too large to be able to buy a sports bra and since I started wearing my BP its the most comfortable I've been in years
