Can anyone recommend a good anti slip pad?

I have a round Haflinger, and although his saddle has been fitted properly, it can still slip slightly. Not much mind, I can get on from the ground without a major slip but sometimes it will move a little to either side.

I use an Acavallo thin gel pad, does the trick. You can get them from Horse Health Wessex.

Thorowgood ones are good & inexpensive, pimples are on horse side not saddle side

I also have a flat topped Haffie,tried the Barnsby non slip pad, it helps but saddle still can slip a little. I have heard good reports about the Avacallo and think this will be the next one to try. I also use a flexigirth.
I am starting to feel whatever I try theres going to be some movement,its very fustrating.

I've ordered one of those horribly expensive nuumed numnahs with the sticky on both sides but the damn online store didn't bother to tell me it wasn't in stock, then told me it would be dispatched weds or thurs and it hasn't been. Gonna have to phone up and cancel it and order elsewhere Tuesday.

I use the same on a rather roly poly (well he was when I bought him, less so now) Connie x. Saddle doesn't move a millimetre.

Doesn't seem to. When I used our temporary saddle before I had the non slip pad it rolled, with the non slip pad everything stayed in place.

I have several Haffies on my saddle fitting books and their saddles do not need non-slip pads to be stable. It depends on your definition of "good fit" - most saddles and trees on the market are not truly flat enough, and in some cases wide enough in the rails (not affected much by widening the points) to fit them well. I would say consider a different saddle fitter, sorry. I think sticky pads aren't nice for the horse to wear and are just masking slightly-less-than-perfect saddles.

My saddler gave me a rectangle of carpet gripper to use underneath my normal pad when he was coming back into work after a lay off. Its a black sticky criss-cross mesh and he buys rolls of it from B&Q.

I got some of this for a quid from a hardware store. I haven't really used it in anger so to speak.

I gave up waiting for my nuumed anti slip numnah to arrive and drove out to the big equestrian store in rugby yesterday and managed to get a Stephen's gel-eeze pad. It's a wierd sticky, squidgy thing, but it seems to work. I like the extra shock absorbency on Bree's back as she can be uneven at times and I do bounce occasionally.

It did seem to work ok under her saddle pad - I felt a lot more secure and she seemed much happier at trot.

Just thought I'd update this and say my nuumed anti slip numnah arrived and it's excellent. Saddle is solid as a rock - I even mounted from the ground today (she's 16hh and I'm 5' 3" so it's a bit of a swing up).
