Can anyone recommend a lightweight/small 4x4?

Hi,

I've just put a deposit down on an Ifor HB401 single trailer (!!), but now need to swap my car for a towing vehicle.

I only have a B licence, therefore need a small 4x4 with maximum gross vehicle weight (weight of car) of 2100 and a minimum kerbweight of 1400 so that I can tow a 1400 kgs trailer (having the 401 downplated).

Have looked at X-Trails so far, but can anyone recommend any alternatives?

X trail is good both on and off road, well balanced so would be a good choice. Honda CRV is more of a road car so X trail preferable to CRV.
