Can anyone recommend a toy for a destructive dog?

I have bought various toys for my dog, but he destroys all of them in under a week! He treats everything as a chew toy, we bought him a treat ball and instead of rolling it around he chewed it until it broke and all the treats came out

He loved his rope tug, he really likes playing tug of war but then he ends up chewing the rope to pieces. I bought him a kong but he's not interested in it at all. He seems to like fluffy toys or ropes. Does anyone know of a toy that is basically indestructable?

Have you tried a black kong? they are pretty tough?

also we have a toy that i thought the dog would either kill or lose interest in, but he LOVES it

shall have to try amd find out what it is

My hunt for Staffy proof toys is never ending, some of the best are the kongs and most places, including Morrisons do solid rubber hard balls they are quite tough. you can get big hard rubber balls for horses and from boat shops they are quite good and if all else fails a tyre from a tree will keep her amused for days!! though i dont like my garden looking like the pikies have moved in!
soft toys are usually disembowlled within minites but she has got a pink pig made from knotted tough rope that she has never been able to trash - good luck and if you find a good one let me know.

Mine love Nylabones. They come in different flavours and sizes and although not indestructible do last quite a while.

When my lab was a pup and still chewing I used to give him old socks, teddies from jumble sales and plastic bottles (when supervised) - much cheaper than buying new toys all the time

I used to find nylabones buried in the garden and under the sofa. I think they were trying to tell me something. They lost interest in the rope tug, destroyed any squeaky toy. They do however love the baked bones you can get. They spend hours chewing them and because they are baked there is not too much mess to deal with. I think they are called postmans legs!!

Where do you get the baked bones from? Just did a quick search on ebay for Postmans legs but all it came up with was PJ's LOL!!
Pippa had a red kong ball and so far (6 months) hasn't managed to destroy it!

We have dobermans who love to destroy just about everything.. lol. i give my young doberman a horseball with treats in it instead of a dog treat ball.. i did give him a dog treat ball but he chewed it till it broke, he cant actually pick up the horse treat ball so its going to last years.. However my skirting boards aint! Kongs are fab.. they last ages too... and nylabones last ages too..

But the destruction part is the best bit!!! If you don't mind clearing up the mess get cuddly toys from charity shops, just check they don't have the beads in the feet. They have an absolute ball for 2 or 3 days at 50p a throw, then I buy new ones. Some people will say this encourages them to destroy other items but they don't play with anything that I haven't given them, apart from the old dog Indie who has turned out to be a closet wool thief....I came home from work a few days ago to find the garden like a giant cats cradle

Also raw beef marrow bones last a few days or the largest kongs should be fairly indestructable

We give nylabones to our JRT cos she doesn't chew things properly and almost choked herself a few years back. In the end i see the nylabones and thought i would give it a try. If it is not actually edible she cannot choke but she could still chew, which she loves to do.

Thought she wouldn't take to chewing it cos it's not quite the same as a an actual edible chew but she did. Any shards of plastic that come off and they swallow are sposed to do no harm at all but we take ours away when they get a overly worn, cos the ends get sharp and they cut their gums on them (our dogs are stupid) and if they catch your legs with them it can leave a scratch.

I think they come in different flavours and shapes too, i have brought chocolate and vanilla before. This post reminded me that i actually need to get another couple.

Echo the solid rubber balls, my JRs destroy everything but these. Though I buy the cheap squeeky toys because although they only last seconds my JR male loves them.
