Can anyone recommend me a RELIABLE Saddler .....

& one that will actually turn up!

Am i need of a new saddle for my mare, her current saddle does not fit & has caused soreness in her back, It was last checked a little over 6 months ago, however she has "grown into herself (IDxcob)" & is completely un-usable.

My usuall saddler has nothing wide enough, i need an extra wide :(

Have tried two other saddlers that were recommended to me by people from my yard, one tried to sell me something completely unsuitable for me & my mare, even a blind person could see that & the other has stood me up twice now!

Ideally i am looking for someone who will part exchange my current saddle & one that will travel to South Derbyshire area.

Have tried my local tack shops, neither do part exchange, they only offer to try & sell your saddle for you & charge you for the pleasure!

Am currently riding my mare bareback schooling & lunging, this is becoming boaring & repatative for both of us :(

What is it with bad saddlers lately? We had one woman come out who claimed she was a master saddler, who sold a saddle to one of our liveries, the saddle didn't fit at all, and the tree was BROKEN! Then another woman came out who just looked at the horse and left the owner with 6 saddles to try, nice of her but she offered no advice or fitting service. Then a man come out to my horse, fitted a saddle which was £600 brand new, so I bought it, plus a sheep skin pad for £45. He came back out to check it 2 weeks ago, had to take it away to fit a new tree which was £50, plus £40 for a gel thingy plus 10 quid just to plonk it on his back and say, it doesn't fit!!! Riding bareback is starting to seem like the option with the less expence and hastle to me haha!! :D

Great for East midlands - If you want to see the damage they caused to a horse (different saddler) in East Anglia and a bit further south PM me for pictures. I am lodging a formal complaint about them. BUT only reason I used said saddler in the first place is because I had such a good experience with the one in the East Midlands - so would reccomend her (not any of the other saddlers though!!) :).
