Hoping to get some ideas from you all...

I've been offered the chance to have a portrait done of my Shetland pony as a present for my 21st but I really don't know who to go for or where to find examples of their work apart from traipsing through Google on my phone!

I love the look of the portraits with a black background where the portrait really stands out and the colours pop.

Anyone with any advice I'd really appreciate it!

Toby_Zaphod has a siggy with beautiful portraits, but I don't know who has done them, and sweet as hunni have said she does art, but I'm not sure if it involves animals.

Off topic, maybe it is something wrong with my computer, but when I clicked the portrait links, link 2, 3, 4 and 5 all took me to this https://www.facebook.com/MathersArt page?

Toby_Zaphod Thank you for the info, I've been admiring your siggy for years, your daughter is very talented. :)

Try Susan Robertson - Animal Portrait Artist on Facebook. There are loads of pet and equine artists on Facebook to choose from and you can see many examples of their work that way :)

Faith Bailey - Equestrian Artwork .. you can find her page on facebook.

I've just received a portrait of my cob that I commissioned from her, and it is just stunning. The detail is phenomoninal. I paid £100 for an A3 pencil drawing, and all I had to do was email her a good quality scanned photo and she took it from there. It is currently away being framed before taking pride of place on my cottage wall!!! :D

I would recommend her any day of the week!!
