Mine thinks he can. With a series of reflex tests and a temperature change sensor device. I'd just like to know some opinions on how reliable these tests are. Do you think the only way to really tell is with X-rays? PM if you prefer. Cheers

I would say the most reliable way would be by x-rays but having said that my vet said that my chiropracter has been 100% right when she suspected a horse had kissing spines problems!

As I said in my post definatly only way to tell is xrays. Vet said our horse would have passed a vetting with the work up he had done and was happy to send us home without having xrays. Glad we did now though!

Definitely not, they can suspect it strongly, but as said above the only way to diagnose is by xray. (My horse would also have passed a vetting, but she had KS quite severely).

I recently sent a client to the vet to get her horse xrayed because I thought it had KS (which it turns out it did), but like I told her at the time, I am not a vet, and the only way to know for sure is xrays.

He may not necessarily do final diagnosis however he does claim to know when a horse DOES NOT have kissing spine. ie If he says the horse's back's fine it rules out possibility of kissing spine. I'm sceptical as well but he does have a very good reputation. Thanks for the replys. I'm Pretty sure I will be taking my mare for X-rays I just feel a bit dis-loyal when I have paid for and put my trust in (to some extent) someone to tell me if there is any indication of a problem.
