Can cobs do dressage?? :))

This is Lola an exmoor mare 4 years old. I just sold her in the autumn 2012 but she was super talented (if only she were 2 hands taller!)

I have to be honest here but A welsh cob and a cob are two different things! I have a welsh cob and we do dressage. In general a welsh cob would find dressage much easier as a propper cob would as they tend to be much lighter. So all of us showing our lovely welsh cob, not really what this treat is about.

I disagree (sort of) essentially a Cob is a powerfully built, short legged horse and its a type (not a breed) so I don't think its right to exclude the breed of Welsh Cobs from that type. But thats just my personal opinion, of course others will disagree.

I just think, quintessentially a Welsh Cob is a cob of sorts :o

That's how I asked the question as type rather than separating into sections of breed! It was a description of type rather than breed!! I could also have said fluffies!! So if there is any confusion it's aimed as above and/or fluffies. 😃

Is anyone else thinking of Ferdinaise's cow pony at this point ;)
Actually I was thinking of HunTheBun's gorgeous coloured boy Smartie!

ETA: LOL didn't actually read the end of the thread before I posted! But still great to watch him again!

I would love to see a Shetland doing dressage!!! How cute!!!! Although I wonder what judges make of Shetlands and dressage????

Awww!!! Thankyou so much for posting vid!!!! how totally adorable and such a beautiful set of fluffies!!!! Pure fun and the crowd totally loved it!!!

My cob could produce a pretty decent dressage test only at prelim level as had to retire before we attempted our first novice test.

Heehee Rudolph,,,, well that's at least an 8 for tactical dressage!!! I know it sounds airy fairy fluffy bunny bum hugging,, but if we can encourage kids and their Shetlands to do dressage,, then secretly we are getting the riders young on the flat correctly. And in my mind therefore those horses the children as adults go on to produce will be better for it!!! I love that Shetlands do dressage I didn't kno before this thread!!
