Can everyone please stop ranting! (rant)

I don't think it's a reflection on how old you are, I'm at the younger end (though not the adolescent extreme naturally!) and I read more than my fair share :p Also used to work in a bookshop and kids were buying them then...

Not sure what you mean by your post though :D

I meant that Enid Blyton had an excellent imagination and so could write superb fiction books - I think some people who post on here, have the same imagination as her when writing their posts.

Did you prefer the Famous Five, or the Secret Seven??

I was in the Famous Five camp all the way! They had so much more fun than the secret seven who always stayed at home - the Famous Five got to go on such fun holidays! I also loved the adventure series (The Island of Adventure etc, with Philip, Dinah, Lucy-Anne, Jack and Kiki the parrot!). And I'm 24... And I clearly remember way too much about this!

How very childish, what a silly thread!
don't you know NL is for seriouse posts about horses?

Well now I'm going to cry :'( I wish George was here to set Timmy on you... Or Julian - he'd give you a serious ticking off!

You may well cry, i did with laughter on one jokey thread, some while ago, when one person told us all off for taking up valuable space on NL with our thread, and she was being serious!

I was'nt by the way . :D

LOL, bless, you have to wonder about the sanity of some folk on here.

Besides, it is horse-related - honestly, haven't you read Five go to Mystery Moor

:D

TBO, i hav,nt read an Enid Blyton book in a very long time.
But she used to live around here, and some of her books are based on this area.

Enid Blyton aside, it does seem far too many people on here having nothing better to do than moan and rant. Give it a rest eh?

Quite right moana *chuckles*

*ahem* This wasn't supposed to be an Enid Blyton Appreciation thread you know.

Can we all just go back to some proper whingeing about ranting and raving please?

Now, after me.... "moan, moan, moan, moan, moan............................."

Today looks like a particularly good day for a rant because it's raining, my horse is too wet to ride (not that I can ride anyway 'cause I'm REALLY poorly) and I'm quite upset about it. Gah!

You're up next: (ahhhh go on, you know you want to...)

How about a rant about how Enid Blyton is dead and not writing any more books and how it's frowned upon for adults to read them anyway  and how they keep producing these new "next generation" famous five type twaddle where they ride BMXs and eat Mars bars and are generally thuggish little chavs :( It makes me so angry I just had to come on here and rant about it!

Oh, there could be a new sub-forum for Trolls... "Under the Bridge" or something like that. It would have some highly amusing contents, assuming TFC actually transferred threads in rather than deleting them...

That could work....

As well as that, can we have a RANT page? Soapbox doesn't really draw out the rants from the errr other stuff does it? No offence SB.

JFTD, drop it old bean... it ain't ever gonna go back to the good ol' days. Not enough oik thrashing went on in the 70's and now this is the result we have to live with.

Yes VERY serious. Thank you Kokopelli.

We are talking here about the mental wellbeing of the very owners themselves! If one would like to rant about ones pony shivering up in the frozen heights of the Somerset Levels, there should be a place where one could rally a troop of wellwishers to help.

That, surely, is the bare minimum subscribers can expect from such a prestigious forum.
