Today was hip day and she is taking forever to come round from the sedation

Shes very very wobbly and drunk and I keep having to lie her down before she falls down! LOL
Bless her, I'm sat in the kitchen with her while she sleeps it off in lurchy pants' big comfy bed away from the other dogs. I daren't go outside and start doing the horses as shes just too wobbly to leave alone if she wakes up!
Still the good news is the vet thought the plates looked excellent and said he would put money on hips being very low scored. So just got to keep fingers crossed now for a few weeks to find out the BVA's verdict!

Aaw poor Flora. That is what I love about the sedative my vets use, the dogs wake up as soon as they have the second jab, and are back to normal in no time. Good news about the hips, fingers crossed they come back with a really low score.

Oh bless, it is so funny when they are all dopey like that. You just want to mother them

I remember once bringing B home from the vet early (long story

) and he came charging out of the consult room, through the reception, out the front door and then lurched suddenly sideways to the left at high speed with me following in fits of giggles.
I then had to lift him in and out of the car on my own, fun times!!!

She made a good show of being quite perky when she came round at the vets! Now shes home she is far from it! LOL Love her, vizslas are so lush when they are sleepy, they go all soft and squishy!

I wonder why my vets use a different one MM? She certainly took her time coming round from the reversal injection in the first place. Do you know the name of the one your vets use?
Did the vets not help you CC? How rude!!

My vets are great like that, they always ask if I need a hand out to the car (not least when I have a ginormous crate with a litter of pups in)
Ooooo extra bonus I just remembered...it was cheaper than originally quoted, saved just over 20 quid somehow so that has made me cheery too!!

Oh dear

Haha, there is a vet in our surgery who quite frankly is a t**t! I hate him and would rather carry a tonne weight on my own than have him help me! The OH calls him doctor death...the number of times I've taken animals in with relatively minor issues and his first sentence always includes PTS as an option!! I still don't quite understand his motives on that one! If the other vets weren't so good I would have changed by now...annoying in an emergency to have to deal with him if hes on call though!

They use a mix of torbugesic and something else (not domosedan but a similar name). Evie took ages to actually go to sleep, she is far too nosy, everytime she started to settle down she heard another noise and leapt up so perhaps she had quite a light dose. But when she had eventually gone to sleep and had her x rays, she woke up the quickest of any I had seen. She was lifted off the table and laid on the floor, I said her name and she got up

Wow thats impressive! Flora had Medetomidine and Butorphanol. She did take ages to drop off and was definately fighting it, I had to lie her on my lap as she refused to even sit down, she wanted to stay standing and kept buckling up, so I am quite suprised shes taking so long to come back round! Shes still out for the count now!
