Can girls wear hunt top boots?

Hi,
I saw a pair of really nice hunt top boots online and I really want to get a pair,but I've never seen a girl wear them before.Is it only for men?I've heard before that girls wear patent top boots and men wear hunt top boots.I want to get a pair for showjumping and xc.Would that be okay?

Female hunt staff wearing a red coat are the only women I have ever seen in top boots. Maybe ask the BSJA/BE ?
