Can horse boots go over shoes

Hi my share horse has extremely thin hoof walls and her feet barley grow. The worst feed my farrier shoes.
Just wondering if u can put boot over metal shoes to reduce concussion so I can hack out on road without feet disintegrating.

Probably but they wouldn't fit well or last long, the shoes would rip them to bits I would think. But why not cut out the shoes - in my experience the stimulation of moving on bare feet and the expansion and contraction of the bare feet gets a better blood supply to them and they grow better and thicker. Boot up with pads inside if necessary for road work, if she is particularly sensitive and thin soled the soft pads will help her.

No she would be crippled going barefoot. As walking on her soles as her feet barley grow.

Yes she is on a good diet and started feeding biotine the other day. And on cornucrescine to promote growth. Neither working but I and keeping with them for a few more months to see
She has always been like it. Just costs alot.
 
The diet for healthy hooves is low in sugars and starches, and high in the important minerals such as zinc, and protein such as methionine, as well as biotin. Cornucrescene stimulates growth, but so does a well balanced foot that is used and has a good blood supply. And not as expensive. . Yer she is my share and been owned by the same people for like over 10 years. And feet have got better like used to have to be re shod every 2-3 weeks now it's 4 ish to 5
 
As this is a share horse you are probably stuck with what the owners want in terms of shoeing / barefoot and feed.

Your initial question was fair OP - and the answer correct, no you can't use hoof boots over shoes. But you're not likely to have any options over that. Its for the owners to determine management.
 
I used old macs over shoes with my last horse who's feet has got into a terrible state. It invalidates the warranty on the boots but it worked for him. The boots fitted well and the shoes didn't damage them.
