im just wondering as both of my horses have got a bit of a skin upset and it only started when the cows moved in the other side of the field... im giving them a fugatrol bath tomorrow much to their disgust but they are very ichy and scabby and taz need bathing before clipping anyway killing 2 birds with 1 stone :)

Yes ringworm is pretty prolific amongst cattle and is very easily spread - doesn't even have to be direct contact, it can be transmitted via fencing etc as far as I am aware. You are also likely to get it if you are not very careful!

see i know taz has had ringworm but ringworm isnt itchy? taz had made part of his neck bald, and his face is itchy and scabby?... i have unfortunately had ringworm many times :o joys of having horses :o

Don't know about skin infections but 3 of my herd of 4 have developed terrible eye infections. I had the vet out this week to treat them, I asked him what might be the cause (we have the worst flies around here, more than I've ever seen). He asked if there are cows in the area...yes half a mile down road...and he reckons that's the cause. Flies coming over from the cows bringing the infection with them.
