Childhood dream - ride home and have my pony in the back garden! :) He was perfectly happy munching the grass until he found the herb garden... He raided the mint plants (as much as we'd let him have or he'd have taken the lot ;)) but also loved the chives. Are horses allowed to eat them? I've seen mixed views from they are highly toxic to them being absolutely fine which doesn't help much! He'd only eat them in moderation (a few tufts here and there when he comes home)

horses eat far worse than chives!! As part of the onion family i cant imagine a small amount would do any harm at all. Our hores have masses of wild garlic in their fields in the spring and seeing as one of them is 30 (still hunting) and the other is 24 i dont think it hurts them!
