My 7 year old gelding has had sarcoids for two years now and has around 10 in total (3 larger ones). I have tried so many treatments and they never seem to make much of a difference I have spent £500 on treating them and I am frustrated with the results. My vet said hopefully he will grow out of them. Is this statement true or will he always have them?

Yes, but why take the risk?

Treat - but one should them aggressively as soon as the first appears so they don't spread;)

What treatments have you tried?

Yes, but normally in youngsters. I had 2 with small sarcoids in areas unaffected by tack. Treated one with Sarc-x and colloidal silver as she was possibly for sale. The other I left as it was small and under belly near belly button. Both horses had theirs dissapear in roughly the same time span after having them for 1 1/2 years. My vet said the body sometimes can fight off the virus causing them and sometimes not. Usually in younger horses though.
