*Can I ask your opinion on this horse please?*

Yes I did wonder about that, seems odd, though could be that she wants to focus solely on the child's pony ... ?

just looked at the pics- either that is one chuncky 15.2 or one very short bloke?!

erm......honestly? I dont like it. Looks strong and I dont like its bum! Very low set tail. For an allrounder might be ok?????

The jumping pictures are horrid aren't they?? He's either very strong, or the rider doesn't understand the principle of giving over a fence.......

Looks nice enough but I wonder if he's a strong horse, which may or may not be an issue.

just looking at the horses expression-looks just generally jittery or fussy-not sure, cant quite put my finger on it? doesnt look like a relaxed horse!

I agree. Not a 'happy' picture....

i think for 3k inc tack its worth a look TBH- but i do think it looks a bit strong over a fence (but is that such a big deal if its honest and straight?!). its clearly not been worked properly for a long time/never
wink.gif
given its lack of muscle but that is something that is easily worked on...as others have mentioned its a bit wierd that they want to do a PX when they don't have time- just ask them why this is...

bear in mind that if the tack is crap you could realistically put a much lower offer than 3k in for him....

It looks like a very strong ride to me too (maybe this is why it is being ridden by the man?). Fine if your friend can cope with that but personally I think she could do better for the money in the current climate.

As an all rounder I think he would be fine. Is she confident as I dont think he looks like a novice ride and might need a bit of schooling.
He doesn't look very happy jumping but he is still doing it which speaks for his honesty. I agree with the others that he looks very strong, but he is only in a snaffle.

Definetly worth having a look /following up.

the words 'bold' teenagers fun ride would worry me...I would translate that as sharp/forward going/not for novice-maybe just me though and the pics on that website arent any better. But the horse isnt for me so it is not my decision!

The photos aren't great & in truth you can't tell a lot from them. The best way to tell is to go & see the horse, if you are not too confident yourself then take an experienced rider with you & take a look & have a ride. A visit will cost you nothing except some fuel & a bit of time.

i don't think horses are any cheaper 'in the current climate' and if it is close enough to go and see it is worth a look.

a lot of strong horses have lovely soft mouths if you aren't pulling them all of the time.

I have seen this advert before, well same pics same guy but different wording! I'm always on the look out for a new horse lol The only advice that I can give you is if you really like the horse, ask to have it on x months loan before you buy, what ever you feel comfortable with weather it be 1 month or 6 months, if they really care about this horse they will not have a problem with it. They will just right a contract stating that you have this horse on x months loan with view to buy and then if he isn't everything they have said than you can give him back and still have your £3k x

but see..if i was selling my horse i would say no-way to that...and i'm a genuine seller who cares about her horses!

I don't agree. I care very much about my horse - and would never allow him to go on trial...

QR - Horse is on a very tight rein.
He looks strong to me, but it could be that the rider is heavy handed and is forcing horse into an outline.

I'd go and see him being ridden if I was interested as I actually think he *could* be a nice horse.

Sorry, but i get a bad feeling about the whole business let alone the horses. Just look at the place in the background of some of the pics, it looks like a dump and the schools got wings and poles lying everywhere and she says "i'm a genuine seller who cares about her horses"!!!!. I'd give it a miss.

To be fair to the horse, in the other pics the guy is still pulling back quite heavyhanded over the jumps - the black one is being forced to jump hollow.

I like it, go have a look

It does look a bit of a heavy kind of ride, for want of a better way of putting it, but worth a look if you don't mind that, and its hard to tell for sure just from pictures.

There is no way I would put out a horse of mine to someone like that. You can ruin a horse in a very short time & then what happens? I would allow someone to come to the yard & try the horse several times but there is no way I'd let it go off the yard
