Hiya
Anyone else feel the same when they bring a horse back into work after an injury?
My boy has been off for a month with a bruised sole that then went to an abscess :( he has flat feet & has remedial shoeing& wedges). The shoe had to come off so that made things worse as well :( X rays were fine& he has had loads of rest & tlc (&lots of vet & farrier visits as well- lol!).
The vet has signed him off and told me to start riding out in walk now.
Took him out last night for first time & he was a star & felt fine but I am treating him like glass & being rather neurotic! If i could bubble wrap him I would!!
Spent an hour when I got back (from a 10 min stroll!!) observing him in the field then more time checking his digital pulse etc etc.
Even when I was on him I was analysing every footfall!!
Is there anything worse than riding after injury?!?!?!
Aaargh!!

Try having one with a tendon injury, that has had to endure 6 mnths box rest!!

The introduction of ridden work was not too scary as he had to have a controlled excercise programme throughout his box rest, but the first time he was turned out made me feel sick.....
