As title really! My cob came in looking like this today, but he is in desperate need of clipping again. It's not hot and he's not lame but it is big!

must have had a pretty big wallop from something for it to be that size-bet its sore! id leave well alone till its gone -you surely arnt going to ride him so wont make any difference!
 
Well having spoken to some very experienced people I plan to walk him gently for the next week as movement helps to absorb the blood back into the body. Also as I said in my OP he is not sore or lame. ETA and yes he did have a wallop - my mare kicked him :mad:
 
my tb had one on the front of the chest after a trailer smashed into his stable door-ouch! ,but it wasnt that big and it took weeks to go:(
