My horse STILL isn't right! and I'm losing the will to continue with them!

I really am seriously close to flogging all 3 horses to whoever will have them and giving up!

Davy is still impossible to ride and everyone is telling me different things...
Vet says sacroiliac is damaged, 2 physios say he should be able to work ok now (after a lot of work), but I still can't ride him. He leans sooooooo heavily and just will not turn right (teeth are fine!)

We have just covered Skew-whiff for the first time, but I think we got her a day to late, and I have a gut feeling she isn't in foal. and to make matters worse she is due to be scanned on the 12th July!!!!
Now fr those who do not know how things work in Northern Ireland, basically the whole country comes to a halt for 2 weeks around the 12th, especially difficult when chilled semen is sent by post!!!!
So looks like if she is not in foal this time, we will miss the next 'season' and then it will be August before she is covered again, and that makes for a very late foal and is pushing it for a maiden!

Ok, so I apologise, this has turned into a MEGA moan! Just had to get it out!

Any ideas/ words of wisdom/ cheery stories... please let me know!

No words but hugs and a glass of wine if you need them?

Hugs hun, hope your mare is in foal, fingers and hoofs crossed!! what happens around the 12th up there then? x

The orangemen all go marching!
It is a public holiday so no mail from 12th until 15th!

Thanks for the hugs, but have been drowning my sorrows so no need for the wine just yet!

Just so disheartened... I really only enjoy riding the horses when I am competing and it just seems as if I will never get out eventing again!

Lol DB.

Aw hun. Know how you feel. I sometimes think I'm operating in a parallel universe - I can see all the others competing (or even riding!), but I can't step across that divide.

Hugs.

Ooooo! I know how you feel, I have thought about getting rid of the lot of mine and having a normal life (go on holiday, wear make up, get my hair done!!)
Why do we do it?
I am the same, I only really like competing, getting the horses fit etc. and when the horses won't 'play' ball it is so frustrating.
One of mine has the same problem about turning right (teeth and back checked 3 times now!) and the other one is really heavy in my hands doing flatwork! but at least he is jumping really well at the moment - small blessings!!

If you are insured, get a referral to Sue Dyson, don't waste any more time or money. Don't listen to everyone else. She'll find what's really wrong with the horse. Good luck that its something fixable.

IMO I think you should send him down to troytown for a complete work up.

But hugs to you
