Hi All,

I posted a few months back about brining my horse back into work. Hes been back to work for about 10-11 weeks now and he had 6 weeks off due to ill fitting saddle/numnah combo. Anyways hes been great being back in work hes progressing nicely with transitions and holding him self well and his canter is getting loads better and I havnt had a problem with his tack/bits/numnah….

But the past 3 weeks iv made slight changes…

I changed his numnah to one of similar thickness
I changed his bit from his mullan mouth egg but to his fullcheek roller
I changed his bridle from his flat hunter to his ordinarly raised one
I also a week ago I changed his feed to alpha a oil as suggested on his to put condition on him….

Well for some reason since Friday last week hes started bucking when I ask for any transitions in the school.. hes fine out hackig.. he didn this fri sat and Sunday I just ignored it and put it down to him being pig headed although is unusal and only bucks when annoyed or excited usually….although very very rare….

Then I gave him 3 days off after the farrier on Monday and lunged on wed he went fine foot perfect.. then rode last night was fine warming up for 20mins but then I asked for walk from halt and he bucked span and tried to bolt with his head in the air I stopped him didn’t punish him and tried again we gpt a walk and trot but when I asked for sitting tro and some collection he put his head down to buvk again so I started rising again… then sat…and he tried it again and each time I moved my leg back a little for canter transition which he did fine in warm up he bucked earch back…

So my question is do you think it’s the feed/back pain/tack changes/bit changes?

Iv got the physio coming out well once I ring her later…

Iv had saddle checked twices once last October then again in april when he came back into work. And saddler said fit will be fine aslong as I keep the sheepskin under it.

Hes developed muscle on his withers now wich he hadn’t before or when he came back into work…

We have also been working on flying changes is it possible he traped a nerve when iv been asking?

Og could it bee hes being a bugger?

Thanks

Vets also recommended physio 1st see what she comes back with.

thanks :)

Take him off the Alpha A and see then, it's known for sending some loopy they just can't tolerate Alfalfa.
Go back to your old kit too, see if he reverts to normal then change one thing at a time over a few days to cancel out anything.

Great thanks will do that after physios been she may aswell check him just incase then ill start eliminating hes nt ussually very fussy so its very odd and bugging me i dnt want to hurt him x
