Can I have some good luck vibes/stop worrying slaps please?

I'm being homechecked tomorrow from a lurcher rescue and I'm rather nervous

I think its because I have been waiting so long for a dog, and obviously a homecheck makes it so much more "real".

So some slaps/vibes/advise would help

I know how you feel, I had a homecheck before I got my Yorkie. But in the event they were really nice and it was all very laid back and friendly. They just pointed out a few holes in my garden fence and that was it - I picked the little fellow up 2 days later (having fixed the fence!).

It's not like a visit from your mother in law when you have to dust the top of the door frames. A house that looks relaxed and lived in is what they will be looking for. It's just a formality. Good luck with your new dog

I do homechecks for various rescues. I probably get as nervous as the person I am homechecking!

There's really nothing to worry about. I always see it as a 2 way process where the other person can ask loads of questions too. They are only there to see if your situation / house / garden is suitable for the dog you are wanting to adopt - not to check on your finances or standard of housework

Hope it all goes well

Oh, and congratulations on choosing a rescue dog.
