She came up lame on her off-fore on Friday, in both walk and trot. There was no heat or swelling anywhere, her foot wasn't hot and didnt seem tender anywhere, so i cold-hosed her legs to be on the safe side and put her back out.

She seemed a bit better on Saturday, much happier in walk but still very lame in trot, so cold-hosed again, and left her for another day. Yesterday she looked bad again, so asked my very experienced friend what she'd do, and she said, bute and field rest for 5 days, so...

I got as far as today. Ella had her bute in a marmite sarnie first thing, by teatime, she was still lame. I rang her owner to let her know what was going on, and she suggested that it might be an abcess - so then i rang my farrier to come out and check her hoof.

He was brilliant, he came out within 15 minutes and had a good prod and pare at her hoof. He couldnt find anything and couldnt find any area where she was sensitive, so, its the vet tomorrow

Poor Ella has dreadful legs, her knees look like a sockful of billiard balls. She might well have arthritis, or even bony spurs forming, or something...jsut hope my vet has some ideas tomorrow. I put hre on Superflex recently, as she was a bit stiff behind when starting to work, and i thought it would help her loosen up a bit. I now wonder if she felt SO much better after starting the Superflex, that she has gone careening round in the field, and tweaked something, or pulled something! Silly girl.

Please can you send some "come sound" vibes to her, please!

Fingers, hooves and paws crossed for Ella and hugs for you
