Taking nervous mother out on a hack, on a safish pony, pray for me he doesn't do anything! She enjoys it once she's out, but now we have nothing really bombproof (horses too big and fast, two small ponies and IT), IT is what she has to ride, and he can look at things in the hedge and while I know he won't do anything it makes her nervous. Hopefully as I'm riding and littlest is, pony will be happy and mother will relax...hopefully!

mum hacked on bloss with me on archie the other day, and she hadnt ridden for 2years! she was mega nervous but blossy was an angel and looked after her!

im sure your mum will have a lovely time

Well, it went ok.
First of all mother turned up with an extra child (littlest wanted someone home to play with) meaning we had to take both little ponies, one of whom we hadn't had out and I had intended on younger taking out first. That was fine, until littlest was on said pony and decided to turn for home, prompting IT to try and go too (this was about 2 feet down our drive). L was just being a prat, nearly ruined it all.
So that was fine, apart from her moaning the entire way she wanted to swap onto ricky (and put her novice friend on unknown pony???).
We met one lorry and IT did do a little trot/canter forwards despite the nice man turning off his engine, and he jogged a fair bit, so mother still not keen on taking him out but basically enjoyed herself and I managed to put up with moaning littlest, plus big lad was a pleasure, reallly calm rather than his normal bounciness!
