South Herts area - South Mimms/Borehamwood/Radlett way. Anyone know of any good equine physios please? Or advice on how to find one - would your first port of call be the ACPAT?

And any tips on best use of a physio.? Looks like I find one myself, they then speak to vet before treating and I need to check with insurance if the cost is covered. Not knowing anything about physio I'm not sure how I assess if they are talking cr88 or not and how often horse needs treatment etc. All new to me.

Have seen some names on here from time to time but thought I'd re-post to get up to date recommendations.

My vet saw my horse and did a lameness work up. She said many things which present as back pain can be referred pain from slight lamenesses. In my pony's case, she had spavins which were treated then the vet was happy to refer to a physio which the insurance paid for.
 
Julia Evans 07734846112 She is excellent and does a lot of polo ponies, show jumpers etc. Based in Chorleywood, Herts but does travel all over the place.

Otherwise - yes ACPAT would always be my first point of call or I would talk to my vet to see who they recommend and already have a working relationship with. No one should treat your horse without your vets agreement anyway and a physio will always speak to your vet first.
 
Thanks everyone. Vet practice said choose your own although that was the receptionist so I think I will ask the actual vet. I will get vet check done first and go from there. Very helpful to have some names, thanks.
 
Highly recommend Val from Anna Johnson as well as Anna herself and yes they do travel to that area I have been using them for years,
 
I've also had Bridget out from Anna Johnson and associates, highly highly recommend her. I had great results, she spent a great deal of time with each and she was brilliant with one of mine who does like being touched a great deal.
