Can I have your thoughts please?

A 17hh, 6-y-o, bay gelding, by a Donnerhall line stallion. Imported from Germany at 4.

Nicely put together, no major faults or weaknesses, as a big horse he is taking longer to matures and he needs more topline but this is improving all the time.

Easy to do around the yard, very polite and well-mannered, good to clip, box, catch, shoe.

Very sensible, doesn't need working everyday. Really trainable with a lovely attitude but as a big horse he is taking a long time to develop and lacks stamina and strength but he is getting better and better.

Started shoulder-in, half-pass, counter canter and lengthening. Offers a change so potentially could progress up to Adv medium with correct training.

Good in traffic, hacks out in company but green so not quite ready to go it alone. He does hacks around the fields and is sensible so not nappy.

He jumps and is very honest and makes a nice shape, so could do workers as well. He would jump BN/Discovery tomorrow.

Getting mid 60's affiliated novice dressage and won last time out, he is well-behaved away from home and doesn't hot up.

Around 9/10k?

I thought it was Blitz then, then realised it said 'gelding'

If he needs to be sold I'd say between £8k and £10k but with the kind of prices that are out there you could put him up for between £10k and £12k IMO.

Well putting him against some that i have seen, i would say about 15k. But that doesnt necessarily mean you;l get it, espec at this time of year.
Are you selling? if so why?
Pm me if you prefer.

Thanks everyone, you have restored my self-belief that we are not crazy!

He is up for £9k which I think is bang on, considering it is January.

Just had a woman on the phone who told me for what he had done he was too expensive and she thought he would be a lot less.

I read the ad and the way they put about him twice needing to mature etc makes me read the horse is weak.. but without a picture you can't tell... but if I was writing the ad I would not say it twice or put it in a diff way.

so that in mind I don't think quite as much money as some have put... but without a picture or video you can't really say how much 100%

I think he's valued about right but, for wahterver reason, horses in his sort of category arent shifting atm.
The owner is prob better dropping to 7.5k if she wants him gone soon. I'm sure the right person is just around the corner, especially now Mark's got him up together and being consistantly well placed

alot less!! what year was this woman living in? i think if i'd have called about him i'd be quite pleased with the price you mention considering it to be realistic

He is such a lovely boy too! Really soppy and cuddly - a real gentle giant.

He has a lovely canter as well - it's nicer than Diva's but don't tell her I said that

i thought about 10-12k but your prob right about advertising for 9 at this time of year as things are pretty slow atm

Thanks everyone, I hope someone snaps him up soon.

I think the market is obviously still really slow as only had one email and still only one call
