Yep you guess it about the ringworm ;) but its kinda going not as scabby or as red more a light pink/greyy colour just wondering can i ride yet or do i wait til its 100% gone?

thanks

Ps. DO NOT answer if your going to write rubbish thanks

Do tell me if I'm rubbish.

Just to be on the safe side I would wait until you can see the beginnings of hair regrowth. But hard to tell with out seeing it. Pic?

What do you class as rubbish?? Advice you want to hear or advice you dont??. I would wait until no new patches are popping up and she is comfortable before getting back on board. The break is prob doing her good.

No sorry you might have to wait a bit longer you need to wait till its not pink at all really, you dont want all that hard work of disefecting at that to go to waste snd her get reinfected. Just a little bit longer and it will all be sorted.:)

No I wouldn't ride till ringworm had cleared up. I bought a horse with ringworm, seems stress can cause it and he did pass it on to my welsh sec d stabled next door, but after 9 months they are both fine. But I agree with alot of posters youon the forum, you seem to want advice but very really take it. You can google and such about ringworm or anything else.

you young lady are very insulting to all the posters who deign to disagree with your threads, you have had a ton of advice from very knowledgeable people but, if it doesnt suit your plans you say its rubbish- you need to take a good hard look at yourself as young as you are!!

Rosie, why do you find it so difficult to make a constructive reply? You take most posts as a personal dig & them get irritated when the OP replies to your attacks.

OP, I would wait until the scabs have healed. Be patient:)

Okay. I have my hands up. I've pushed the button on this one.

Once again it's got in a b'fest and enough is enough.

Yes me to!!!
I feel for this poor girl. I have a daughter and would be horrifed if she was treated as some people have treated her!! Its everytime she posts!!!
What must she be thinking sitting at home.

This post was a simple question with a simple answer, i know she said about people not posting rubbish and yes it could have been said differently but some people have been so horrible to her recently!!!!!

BSJAshowjumper123- I am going through the same thing at the moment, after moving to a new yard both of my horses have picked up ringworm. My vet has advised not to ride until hair has near enough all regrown especially if any patches appear on girth area as it may rub if the skin is exposed.

Can I ask how long your horse has had it? And what you are using to treat it?

May I ask why you haven't just asked your vet? That way you will get ONE definitive answer and avoid yourself the hassle of getting 'rubbish' replies.

I am normally quite nice but I get fed up of reading the same old imbecillic and inflammatory posts from illiterate teenagers.

If the OP wanted impartial advice from people who are unaware of the history then she could just google the condition or browse some of the veterinary sites.

In which case put the OP on user ignore so you don't have to read/respond to any of her posts.

I think she is using IMAVEROL - not 100% sure tho!!

Better to be safe than sorry. I'd wait until the hair had grown back in its entirety then you'll know for sure the skin has healed. :)

For the record I "pushed the button" for the first time this evening. It's such a shame ......

I am not certain, but when our 'free kitten' came, he brought with him ringworm and industrial strength ear mites. Our poor dog was COVERED with ringworm and we used gentian violet on her patches. Kitty got griseofulvin I think and we were most bothered about the horses - however none of them got it?

I seem to remember misting them with Virkon E (as it was, not Virkon S) and to my amazement not a patch on any of them. I think the kids had small 'attacks' but we escaped lightly, I think.

Well this is the first time I've been reading a post that has half disappeared right from under my nose!!

OP I too would wait until there is good regrowth, you've come a long way with it, and you'd kick yourself if you didn't wait and things got set back :)

Here's to those who were here when it all happened, and were right to push the button.

Txxxxxxxxxxxx

i would wait untill the hair has started to grow back otherwise you could end up re infecting. glad to here its clearing up though.

agree with mrs m. the "lets all jump down bsja's throat is abit silly now" how would you feel if your 14 year old daughter came on a forum for advice and got replys like some of the ones shes had? admitidley she doesnt always take on your advice and contradicts (sp) it but shes 14? what more do you expect?

There is alot of pigtail pulling going on.

Really is all very silly.

op, only ride once your vet has given you the all clear. That way you know for sure that ebs is ok. Hopefully it will be soon :)
