Can I see any adults riding 14.2 / 14.3h ponies please?

Sorry I don’t have pics! But I’m 5’4” weigh between 70-75kg and I regularly school 14.2’s coming back into flat work. Mostly trotter types, so light/medium boned cobs, you’d maybe call them!

My own girl is a 14.2hh medium cob but she’s not in ridden work at the minute. Personally, I appreciate how much closer the ground (and gate latch) is on ponies!!! 😂

How wide the pony is makes a difference too! Same pony and rider, just a diet for the pony. 5'7" and 13.3.
Indeed it does. And it's healthier for the horse not to carry extra weight, even if it makes the rider look smaller. So heavier horse doesn't automatically mean it can carry a larger rider better, only if it's a healthy weight, muscle etc. Legs hanging down isn't really an issue to me, unless there's fences involved.

Some horses take up the leg better than others - I was amused to see a photo of myself on a 17hh horse recently where I looked little different to how I did on my 12.3hh pony 10 years ago. My share is 14.3hh and he's a perfect size (I'm 5'5). The dark bay is 17hh, the light bay 12.3hh. I've not got any photos on my share unfortunately.

14.1 (also a Sec D) on tiptoes and 5’6”. We were both 13 and I was 5’2 when I started riding him and even though I was a bit tall on him, he still carried me absolutely fine until I lost him very unexpectedly when we were 27. I didn’t stop growing until I was 22 and there was no way he was going anywhere then! We were both 25 in this photo. He never felt small. I remember getting on my friend's NF who was about the same size and feeling like a giant. When I lost him and got Archie (16.3) he only felt bigger when I got off. He rode smaller than his 16.3 and Eb rode way bigger than his 14.1.

No photos but I comfortably rode my daughter's 14:2 Dales pony and I am 5'8". He was nice and wide so took my leg up well and I did not look or feel underhorsed on him (I was used to riding horses 16:2 plus at the time).

I’m 5ft4 and ride chunky 12.2hh upwards. If that helps? Feet don’t go below anyone’s ribs. That said, I am very weight conscious - have to forgo the pies for love of the horse! When I had a 14.2hh life was less stressful on that front!

Section D 14.3 and I am 5’2”
Gorgeous! My son’s D is 14hh. He’s about 5ft2 and there’s still plenty of growing room. She is built like a tank!

5’8, 13.2 (very high withers so more like 13hh). All of mine are 13.1 - 13.2. I’m constantly on a diet but to be honest they easily carry me. I don’t do horses at all, never have. They seem like completely different animals, and it’s much further to fall .

(feel free to complement our perfectly coordinated bonnet, tabard and exercise sheet, I’m very proud of them 😁)
